Please see the Student Assignment info below if you are interested in applying for a Magnet middle school! Applications close on January 22, 2026.

If you are interested in your student attending a Magnet school (that is not your base), please note the following:

October 15, 2025 - January 22, 2026 is the application window for Magnet and year-round schools.

February 19, 2026 is when notification of application results will be sent out.

There is a Magnet Fair on November 1, 2025 from 9-12 at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School (my alma mater!).

About 6th Grade Registration:

Use the links below to look at school websites and specific 6th grade registration information.

The schools listed below are all of the schools our 5th graders are currently assigned to for the 2025-2026 year.

Registration was open March 10- April 11, 2025. Paper copies of registration forms were sent home on March 12th and were due back to me by March 24th. Students registered with me March 26-28, or April 7th if they were absent before spring break. A printed copy of what your child registered for and their core class recommendations was sent home on April 7th for you to review and return by April 11th to request any changes.

Registration is now closed! Middle school counselors will reach out over the summer to send you a copy of your child's finalized schedule. At that time, and during the first 2 weeks of 6th grade, you/your child will be able to request schedule changes.
