Susie Meyer is new to Hortons Creek this year and is the teacher of the Blended Pre-K class. She was born and raised near Detroit, MI, and moved to North Carolina in 2015. She has directed Daycare Centers and Preschools for 20+years and has taught both Kindergarten and 1st grade here in WCPSS. Susie went to Anderson University, IN for her Elementary Education degree and is continuing her coursework here at both NCSU and ECU.

Mrs. Meyer is passionate about building relationships with students and parents. She strives to provide a classroom that is full of love, respect, and boundaries so that students can safely explore, learn, and grow. She excels at nurturing children and helping them to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. Susie believes that partnering with parents and teammates is essential in helping students gain the necessary skills and education to be successful in life.

Susie lives in Holly Springs with her husband, Scott, and her dog, Otis. Together they have 4 grown children. One child lives in Raleigh and the other 3 kids still live in Michigan (for now!) She loves playing cards and games, taking Otis for walks, hanging out at the pool, and spending time with friends and family.
