Mrs. Lucíola Lewis
Lucíola Lewis is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music-Violin Performance and East Carolina University with Masters of Arts in Teaching with music concentration. She has been playing violin since the age of 6 and teaching since the age of 15. She began her career as a violinist in 1993 playing for São Paulo State Youth Symphony in Brazil. Since then she has played for numerous events, operas, and musicals in many different places. Mrs. Lewis participated in seminars at the New England Conservatory on Understanding El Sistema and worked for organizations that use music for social justice. She has also led music for churches both in Brazil and the US. She enjoys playing and teaching strings to all ages. She is a member of American String Teachers Association (ASTA), National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA).
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and five children.
