Family Marathon Challenge

Coach Hook has issued our families a challenge. Who wants to walk/run a marathon while we are out? All you have to do is log your miles, when you reach 26.22 miles you are a winner! When you have completed your marathon, take a photograph of you, or if your whole family participates, your family, and we will post it on our Marathon Challenge Page of our Gator Gallery of Learning and Leading. Send your photographs to Mrs. Barnes at habarnes@wcpss.net. All photographs submitted will be posted under the tab Marathon Challenge. In your tagline, please write Marathon Pictures. All students and or families who achieve this goal will receive a certificate once school is back in session. In the meantime, start walking, biking and running your marathon.

Cael Faust has completed his challenge!

Cael has been riding his bike along the greenways for over 26 hard earned miles. We are so proud of you for reaching your marathon goal and hope you had a ton of fun along the way!

The Sexton Family has mastered the marathon!

Landon and his mom, our very own AP Mrs. Sexton, and their precious dog Sully have biked and walked their way to victory! We are so impressed with the dedication to reach this goal! Can you do 26.2 more??

Let's give it up for the McFeaters Family!

Brooklyn, Gavin and their sister Hayden completed the marathon by biking and walking in their neighborhood and near the PNC arena. What a cool place to get some exercise! Go McFeaters and Go Pack!

Congratulations to Cooper Williams and Family!

Cooper tracked his very own miles and in one month had over 27, making him our next leader to conquer the marathon challenge! Keep biking/walking/running with your family!

Lucie MacIntyre is another marathon hero!

To accomplish this goal, Lucie first had to learn to ride her bike. Not only did she do just that, she fearlessly started biking for over 30 miles with her mom and baby brother. Now that is some true grit!

Way to go, Stutts Family!

Adam and his family have been walking and biking their hearts out, and have sweet victory over the 26.2 challenge! We admire your dedication!

Sam McDermott has defeated the marathon challenge!

Sam has been working hard every day for a month running and walking for over 26 miles! We see you Sam and we couldn't be more excited for your accomplishment!

We are so proud of you, Aiden and Ava Holmes!

Aiden and Ava each ran/walked 9.2 miles and biked 17 miles to complete their 26.2 challenge. What an outstanding job reaching your goal! You keep up that outstanding work, Holmes kids!

Mrs. Headley takes a break from reading to dominate the 26.2!

They did it one mile at a time! EVERYONE in the Headley family completed the 26.2 miles! It has become an after-dinner habit and our very own Librarian hopes they will continue and reach the 100 mile mark. Added benefits of this healthy choice for her family? Lots of great family conversations and laughs, as well as dog-training (he wants to chase cars!). Thank you Coach Hook for the inspiration!

Way to go Charlie Holt and family!

Walking his dog Roxy, along with his sister and the whole family on some days, Charlie crushed the marathon challenge! They say, "Thank you for this fun challenge, Coach Hook!"

Another challenge was completed by William Rhea-Unruh!

Amazing job, William, riding your bike for over 26 miles! And bringing your sister along too makes it even better! Keep the miles coming!

Congratulations to the Mullis Family!

Way to go Ethan, Sierra and Aidan! All of you have completed the marathon challenge. What a great way to synergize as a family and sharpen the saw for healthy minds and bodies!

You are a rock star, Leighton Little!

Leighton and his mom have biked 96 miles each and Leighton has also ran over 30 miles. All you need is the swimming and you'll be an Ironman! We are amazed at such commitment!

Cora Kite, you rocked the marathon challenge!

Cora tracked her miles daily and it didn't take her long to get to the 26.2! What a lot of dedication and hard work...we are so proud of you Cora!

Terrific job completing the challenge, Mrs. Dyer!

Mrs. Dyer, another amazing IA in Kindergarten, realized she has completed a couple marathons with all her walking! Keep adding up those miles!

Congratulations to the Oliva-Bloem family on their 26.2 miles!

Alex and Elia Oliva-Bloem walked around the neighborhood pond and lake, playing "Follow the Coach" which involved being Coach Hook and modeling exercise for their family to do! What an awesome idea!

Give a round of applause to the Gump family!
