Dress Code
Appropriate dress is necessary to maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and safety. Staff shall exercise appropriate discretion in implementing this policy, including making reasonable accommodations on the basis of students’ religious beliefs or medical conditions. Students are expected to adhere to standards of dress and appearance that are compatible with an effective learning environment. Presenting a bodily appearance or wearing clothing which is disruptive, provocative, revealing, profane, vulgar, offensive or obscene, or which endangers the health and safety of the student or others is prohibited. Parents are encouraged to provide guidance and monitor their child’s dress based on the policy outlined above.
Dress for Physical Education Classes
Students are expected to dress out for physical education. If a student does not dress out, he/she/they will be given an alternative assignment. Healthful Living/Physical Education teachers will provide more details about policies and procedures regarding dressing out.
