Ensemble Descriptions

Treble Concert Choir: This ensemble is composed of two classes, Vocal Music I - Beginning & Vocal Music II - Intermediate. Vocal Music - Beginning is open to all students at Enloe High School, and requires no audition or prior choral experience. Vocal Music - Intermediate is an auditioned group of singers that have some understanding of basic music literacy and vocal technique. Together they perform at every Enloe Choral Department concert. (Average grade level of those in this choir are 9th & 10th grade).


Advanced Treble Ensemble: This ensemble is the Vocal Music III - Proficient class. It is an auditioned group of singers that have an understanding of music literacy and vocal technique. The ensemble also features body percussion pieces at most concerts. This class receives honors credit. (Average grade level of those in this choir are 10th & 11th grade).


Magnet Tenor/Bass Ensemble: The tenor/bass voice requires completely different vocal technique instructions than the treble voice. Mrs. Hallihan’s graduate thesis on the Male changing voice furthers her desire to create this ensemble! The Magnet Tenor/Bass group is composed of the Magnet T/B Beginning & Intermediate group (open to all students at Enloe High School, and requires no audition or prior choral experience [average grade level 9th-11th]) and the Chamber Tenor/Bass group (Average grade level 11th-12th). The Chamber Tenor/Basses are an auditioned group of singers with an extended knowledge of music literacy and vocal technique. Chamber Tenor/Bass members ONLY receive honors credit. The Magnet Tenor/Bass Ensemble performs with the Chamber Tenor/Bass singers at every Enloe Choral concert. Chamber Tenor/Bass singers will also perform with the Chamber Trebles at every concert. These members must also participate in scheduled rehearsals outside of class with the Chamber Treble members.


Chamber Trebles: This ensemble is the Vocal Music IV - Advanced class. This is an auditioned group of singers with an extended knowledge of music literacy and vocal technique. These singers will perform by themselves and with the Chamber Tenor/Basses at every concert. (Average grade level 11th-12th).


Chamber Choir: Chamber Choir is an auditioned group of singers. The treble voices from the Chamber Trebles Choir are combined with the Chamber Tenor/Bass voices from the Magnet Tenor/Bass Ensemble. This group rehearses with Mrs. Hallihan once every two weeks outside of class time. (Average grade level 11th-12th). This ensemble performs outside of school regularly, including the Governor’s Mansion for Christmas, All Arts Department Concerts, Pieces of Gold, MPA Festival, and more.
