Battle of the Books 2024-2025
Join the Battle of the Books Team!
Get ready to dive into 20 awesome books and test your knowledge! As a team, we’ll read, memorize titles and authors, then discuss each book in detail to uncover unique questions. Starting in January, we’ll hold “Mock Battles” to quiz each other, and from there, we’ll select our final team, which will be announced at the end of the month.
In March, our team will go head-to-head with other middle schools across Wake County in an exciting competition to crown a champion!
The BOTB interest meeting will be held on November 19th from 2:45-3:45 in the Media Center. Please plan to attend if you have ANY interest in joining the team.

What is Battle of the Books?
In Battle of the Books, we engage in games that help us learn the authors and titles of our selected books, and we’ll begin mock battles once we’ve read enough to compete!
As you read, be sure to take notes and mark important pages with ideas for details and questions. These notes will be invaluable when we begin our battles. We also encourage you to write your own questions to deepen your understanding of the books and explore their connections.
We will:
Read from the 20 selected titles for the competition
Take Notes and Write Questions while reading
Learn Authors and Titles
Start Mock trails in January
