" The room where it happens." - Hamilton: An American Musical
Class overview
Our 6th, 7th and 8th graders will be learning standards that involve: communication (presentation), analysis (reading and watching performances), aesthetics ( the art of production design), and culture (theatre history, traditions in a variety of cultures), as well as how contemporary theatre impacts today's culture. As students progress through their semesters, they will have a series of smaller check-in assignments, as well as four major assessments, which will include a presentation, a student choice design project, as well as paper pencil tests to assess student learning.
Drama class students are encouraged to audition for the annual musical. However, it is not a requirement and students in drama class will have a separate opportunity to perform.
