David Wilson was the orchestra director at Green Hope High School from 2000 until 2018. He has also taught Guitar, Percussion, and A.P. Music Theory on his journey to creating a full time orchestra program at that school. He is a graduate of University of TN at Chattanooga where he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Masters in Music Performance.
Mr. Wilson is an active member of the North Carolina Music Educator's Association. In 2014, he conducted the Green Hope String Sinfonia's performance at NCMEA’s annual convention.
Groups conducted by Mr. Wilson have received consistent superior ratings in their extensive travel throughout North Carolina and the eastern part of the country. Most notably the GHHS Festival String Orchestra was named sweepstakes champion at the 2007 Heritage Music Festival in Washington DC with the highest score of any performing group.
Mr. Wilson has recently begun a new and exciting chapter in his career as the orchestra director for Dillard Drive Middle School.
