In 2017 I graduated Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH with a Bachelors in Special Education. I am originally from Raleigh, and I moved back home to be close to my family. I worked at Broughton High School as an OCS teacher for one year before becoming an ECS teacher here at Dillard. I have loved working as a Dragon and am proud to call Dillard my home.
I cannot wait to teach your student here at Dillard! This is more than a job to me; it is my passion. I believe that our students can excel by helping them achieve high expectations. I do not accept a disability as a reason not to participate or succeed. Each and every one of our students is unique and wonderful in their own way. I strive to help the world see the beauty in every student, while challenging all students to grow and succeed. I am very excited to help your student on their journey through Middle School!
I cannot start a day without a fresh cup of coffee! My favorite color is yellow and I have a weakness for dark chocolate. I love going on bike rides with my husband, and sometimes bike to work. When I'm not at school you will find me snuggling with my cat (Brian) and dog (Banks) or hanging out with a group of friends downtown!
I grew up in Lexington, NC (home of the BEST BBQ). I attended East Carolina University, and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors in Special Education Adapted Curriculum. After graduating, I moved to Raleigh and worked as the AU III teacher at Carroll Middle School and Self-Contained Dept Head for 3 years before becoming an ECS teacher here at Dillard Drive Middle.
I love my job, and my husband often jokes that I can't stop working even when I'm home! I am an advocate for all individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. I believe that everyone can learn when given the opportunity. I work to teach my students everything from academics and social skills to communication and acceptance. I work to teach others about acceptance, inclusion and love of all individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. I am always learning new things for personal and professional growth to ensure that I am teaching with evidence based practices.
My favorite color is purple, I love coffee and chocolate covered raisins. I have 2 pets; a crazy cat named Sherlock and a sweet pup named Sophie. I love trying new things, and recently joined an intramural indoor soccer league with my husband and best friends. When I am not at school you will find me exploring different places downtown with family and friends. During the summer you will find me teaching summer school or relaxing by the pool and reading a good book!
I have worked at Dillard Middle since 2019. My favorite color is black but if leopard was a color that would be it because I love everything leopard! My favorite hobby is scrapbooking. One of my favorite pastimes is looking through magazines or searching the web for home decor, furnishings and etc. I love patterns, prints and different textures. I love to snack on plain potato chips. When I am not at school I love to go to comedy clubs and try out different restaurants.

I have been working at Dillard for the past 10 years! I grew up in a family of teachers and knew that was the only thing I wanted to do. I have a college degree in Math and Elementary Education. I have worked in different fields but my heart keeps coming back to working in education! I just completed 17 years with WCPSS as a Teacher Assistant in Special Education. Things in life that make me smile include family, friends, and faith. I love chocolate, coffee, knitting and playing golf with my husband, and spending time with my two sons! My favorite color is peach & I love making others smile.

Hi! I am so excited to be at DDMMS this year. I was born and raised right down the road in Raleigh, North Carolina. Attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville in the mountains and graduated with a Bachelorś Degree in Literature and Language and a 6-9 teaching license. I love working one-on-one and in small groups with students in order to effectively learn about them and meet their needs.
Some facts about me: my favorite color is orange, I love dogs (and have three mixes at home) and not only is my taste in music solidly rooted in 60s, 70s, and 80s rock but I valiantly attempt to play such music on the ukulele. My hobbies include reading when I have time and writing every day - I can always be counted on to have a notebook and pen at hand!
