Daily Practice assignments are an important part of the learning process. Your child's teacher will often provide helpful feedback to learn and grow from.
Istation and Dreambox should be completed 20 minutes each day. These online resources help meet your child's needs and provide his/her teacher with helpful instructional support information. They need to be completed independently to help your child's teacher get a clear picture of his/her abilities. Thank you for your support.

Academic Focus of the Week:
Social Studies: We are working hard on our Economics Unit. We will be exploring what a Market Economy is and have been focusing on supply and demand, scarcity and choices, and how this all impacts producers and consumers. We will continue our Unit of study from 1/20 - 2/12. During the last week your Virtual Tarheel Traveler will be completing a culminating entrepreneurial project!
EL: We have been presenting our fabulous narrative stories. This week we will begin EL Module 3 which focuses on the American Revolution!
ALL Block: Our language skill of the week is focused on forming and using prepositional phrases.
Math: This week are continuing with Unit 5 - Understanding Fractions. An essential part of this unit is being able to find, model, and explain equivalent fractions, and compare fractions that have like numerators, like denominators, and different denominators. Students will need to prove their work and thinking with visual models.
Keep working on those multiplication and division skills!
