Meet the Teacher
Ms. Barnett
Hello! My name is Vanessa Barnett-Loro, and I am a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina where I obtained a B.A. in Spanish as well as my K-6 Education Licensure.
Last year I taught 5th grade at Conn Elementary, and this year I am thrilled to be teaching 4th! I grew up down the road in Durham where I now live with my husband, Greg, and our very spoiled dog, Oliver. I am an avid reader, hiker, political junkie, and traveler, and I freely admit to my terrible sweet tooth and college basketball obsession. I laugh loudly and often.

My husband works in the Math and Data Science Departments at Duke. He's very tall and puts hot sauce on everything.
Ollie
Our dog is 10 years old but still acts like a puppy. He gets around pretty well on three legs and likes snuggles and watermelon.
