The Cedar Fork library serves students in grades pre-K through 5th grade.
The Cedar Fork library serves students in grades pre-K through 5th grade.
Students in Pre-K through 3rd grade come to the library as a part of their specials rotation. Fourth and fifth grade students are able to come to the library independently during morning check out and open circulation throughout the day. Upper grade students also have many opportunities to work with the school librarian through collaborations with classroom teachers and other specials teachers.

The media center is currently equipped with 8 square tables, 10 flexible seating tables, and a dedicated maker table with a variety of building materials. The library is set up with two main teaching spaces, one on the carpet and one at the square tables.

The WakeForward initiative launched in the 2018-2019 school year as a way to better define, strengthen, and advocate for our school library programs. This work aligns with what librarians are already doing in their programs and can connect the library into school-based initiatives, like the goals set by the school improvement team.
