Mr. Acree

Hi Everyone! My name is Daniel Acree and I am excited to be continuing in my 4th year here at Barton Pond on the 5th Grade team this year in the role of Math & Science Teacher to 50% of the grade!

I was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, NC. I was a UNC Charlotte finalist for "Student Teacher of the Year", where I was student teaching for the 2022-2023 academic year in 5th grade in Gaston County Schools. I have had the pleasure of working with all grade levels in all content areas over the past few years in various schools and districts across the Charlotte Metropolitan Area from Internships to being a Reading Intervention Teacher. However, 5th grade is my favorite! I'm looking forward to year 4 in Raleigh, North Carolina! In my free time; I enjoy traveling, trying out new restaurants in the Triangle, spending time with family and friends, running, an avid reader, participating in cycling/barre and pilates classes! 

I believe strongly in creativity and collaboration and bringing in engaging, innovative and fun ways of learning through experiences and projects into the classroom. I have enjoyed my time as part of the Barton Pond Family (Go Bullfrogs) and building positive relationships with my students, colleagues and families.
