How can storytelling be used to communicate a complex scientific and societal issue?
Both sides of the ethical issue, pros and cons
The science, specifically the genetics and biotechnology, behind the issue
The historical context surrounding the issue and where we stand today
Your Podcast or Crash Course video should:
Feature all group members, mixed in a way that is interesting for your listener.
Be 8-12 minutes long, with at least 2.5 mins of air time per group member.
Be accompanied by a detailed, written script including a citation page.
Give all key information about DNA, GMO, bioethical issue and describe its backstory and uniqueness.
Be saved as an mp3 or mp4 if podcast, youtube video if Crash Course.
Be creative and original. Use props/effects such as music, scenery, etc.

Have a STORY that teaches a lesson about one of these topics.

Bio.3.1.1 Explain the double-stranded, complementary nature of DNA as related to its function in the cell.
Bio.3.1.2 Explain how DNA and RNA code for proteins and determine traits.
Bio.3.1.3 Explain how mutations in DNA that result from interactions with the environment (i.e. radiation and chemicals) or new combinations in existing genes lead to changes in function and phenotype.
Bio.3.3.1 Interpret how DNA is used for comparison and identification of organisms.
Bio.3.3.2 Summarize how transgenic organisms are engineered to benefit society.
Bio.3.3.3 Evaluate some of the ethical issues surrounding the use of DNA technology (including cloning, genetically modified organisms, stem cell research, and Human Genome Project).
