About Me!

Hello, and welcome to Fourth Grade!  I have been a part of the Ballentine family since my son began Kindergarten here in 2004.  Since that time, I have enjoyed many different roles:  a parent volunteer, a long-term substitute, a technology assistant, a CCR assistant, and I'm now in my ninth year of teaching 4th Grade.  My earliest experiences at Ballentine kindled within me a joy for teaching that sent me back to NC State to earn certification and an MAT in Elementary Education.  I am convinced that teaching children is my passion and life purpose and I absolutely love going to work every day!

My husband and I moved to Fuquay-Varina from Southern California twenty-five years ago.  We met and married while undergraduate students in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside.  At UCR, I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Biochemistry. When our two children were young, I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom and those are years that my heart treasures.  They have grown up far too quickly.  Gabel is a 2021 graduate of Clemson University in Civil Engineering and is working as a project engineer (Go Tigers!) and Caroline is newly graduated Biochemistry major at Clemson, headed to P.A. school. (Go Tigers x2!).  They are both proud graduates of Fuquay-Varina High School.  We also have a Jack Russell Terrier named Scout.  He goes on 25 mile runs with my husband on Sunday afternoons, while I take a nap. We love the Fuquay-Varina schools and community and couldn't imagine a better place to live.
