Hello, and welcome to Fourth Grade! I have been a part of the Ballentine family since my son began Kindergarten here in 2004. Since that time, I have enjoyed many different roles: a parent volunteer, a long-term substitute, a technology assistant, a CCR assistant, and I've taught 4th Grade since 2012. My earliest experiences at Ballentine kindled within me a joy for teaching that sent me back to NC State to earn certification and an MAT in Elementary Education. I believe that teaching children is both my passion and life purpose and I love going to work every day!
My husband and I moved to Fuquay-Varina from Southern California more than twenty-five years ago. We met and married while undergraduate students in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside. At UCR, I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Biochemistry. When our two children were young, I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom and those are years that my heart treasures. They have grown up far too quickly. Gabel and Caroline are both proud graduates of Ballentine Elementary, Fuquay-Varina High School, and Clemson University. They are now working at grown-up jobs: Gabel is a Civil Engineer and Caroline is a PA. Mr. Barrows and I also have a Jack Russell Terrier named Scout, who happily still lives at home. :) We love the Fuquay-Varina schools and community and couldn't imagine a better place to live.
