Hello, and welcome to Fourth Grade! I have been a part of the Ballentine family since my son began Kindergarten here in 2004. Since that time, I have enjoyed many different roles: a parent volunteer, a long-term substitute, a technology assistant, a CCR assistant, and I'm now in my eleventh year of teaching 4th Grade. My earliest experiences at Ballentine kindled within me a joy for teaching that sent me back to NC State to earn certification and an MAT in Elementary Education. I am convinced that teaching children is my passion and life purpose and I absolutely love going to work every day!
My husband and I moved to Fuquay-Varina from Southern California more than twenty-five years ago. We met and married while undergraduate students in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside. At UCR, I earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and an M.S. in Biochemistry. When our two children were young, I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom and those are years that my heart treasures. They have grown up far too quickly. Gabel is a 2021 graduate of Clemson University in Civil Engineering and is working as a project engineer in construction management (Go Tigers!) and Caroline is 2023 Clemson graduate in Biochemistry, now in P.A. school in Ohio. (Go Tigers x2!). They are both proud graduates of Fuquay-Varina High School. We also have a Jack Russell Terrier named Scout, who happily still lives at home. :) We love the Fuquay-Varina schools and community and couldn't imagine a better place to live.
