Single Subject Acceleration

Students meeting qualifying criteria in grades K-7 can take advanced academic content in mathematics or English Language Arts through Single Subject Acceleration (SSA). This ensures opportunities for appropriate levels of academic challenge. Only students who are currently enrolled and attending a WCPSS school during the open nomination and testing window are eligible to be considered for SSA.

Test Request Deadlines (to register your child for testing)

All test request windows will open at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on the first day of the test request window and closes at 11:59p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of the request window.  Please note beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year, the form will be open for three weeks instead of two weeks.  

• All calendar types with the exception of Track 4: January 5 - 23

  • This includes modified, leadership academies, traditional, tracks 1, 2, and 3

*All requests submitted outside of the student’s testing request windows will not be processed.
