I am very excited to announce that Willow Spring High School will begin offering a new (very beneficial) resource to our students! I am proud to share that we will begin offering a BackPack program for students/families within our school community who are in need.
The main objective of the program is to provide shelf-stable food to our students and families to get them through weekends and holiday breaks. This is a very personal mission of mine, and am very excited to be spearheading this program!
While we are still working out the logistics of the program, we have already started receiving donations from a local church! As mentioned before, the food is shelf stable, and for now are just packaged in plastic bags so that students can discreetly bring the food home in their backpacks without having attention drawn to them.
In short: regardless of what day of the week it is, if you are someone, or know someone who struggles with the ability to have consistent access to food at home, please reach out to me via email (jbaillo@wcpss.net) or you can click here and complete the google form attached. You ALWAYS email me and I will be sure to get you set up within the early stages of the program. If it is easier, you can also reach out to your counselor and then your counselor can reach out to me!
Best Regards,
Mrs. Baillo
