A Little About Me
Personal Information
I am originally from Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!) and that is where I went grew up and went to school. Most of my family still lives in Buffalo, but I do have some family here in North Carolina. I moved to North Carolina to get away from all the snow in Buffalo. My husband and I moved here in 2023, and currently reside in the community of Willow Spring. I live at home with my husband, and our fur babies (Luna, Queso, and Chewbacca). I love to relax at home with my family, read, watch movies, and travel!
Educational Background
I graduated from West Seneca West Senior High School in 2014. I started out at University at Buffalo going for Speech-Language Pathology, but realized that it wasn't for me. I took a year off of college, worked at my job and did some volunteer work. During my time off, I decided that there was nothing I would like to do more than be a special education teacher. I enrolled in Buffalo State University and received my bachelor's degree in Exceptional Education in May of 2020. Shortly after, I re-enrolled at Buffalo State University in a master's program to become a Literacy Specialist and graduated in August of 2022.
Teaching Experience
I started out my teaching career being a building substitute teacher for Elma Primary School. I later received a job offer to work for Buffalo Public Schools as a middle school special education teacher. I finally settled down in Gowanda Middle School, which was much closer to my home at the time! After moving to Wake County, I worked at Herbert Akins Road Middle School teaching Middle School Reading, Literacy Essentials, Curriculum Assistance, and ELA ICR. I am so excited to be at Willow Spring High School for the 2025-2026 school year!
