Hello! My name is Mrs. Hellstern, you can call me Mrs. H (I used to be Ms. Jang). and this is my first year in Alston Ridge Elementary School.
I graduated from Washington and Lee University with a B.A. in Mathematics and a minor in Elementary Education. I was teaching in Virginia and just moved down to North Carolina this summer.
I recently got married to my best friend whom I met in college. (That's him in the photos!) I enjoy caring for houseplants, learning new things, and trying new foods!
I believe in creating a joyful learning environment where progress is the goal, rather than perfection. Every child is different, but they are all capable learners. I am excited to partner with you in your child's educational journey.
