Guidelines
Students will be quiet, seated, and attentive during instruction
Students will be prepared for class and participate in all class activities
All materials and work areas will be cleaned prior to dismissal
Students should leave their seats only if necessary
If anyone is irresponsible with materials and it continues after re-direction, they may find themselves completing alternative projects.
Procedures
Students will come into class quietly
No gum, candy, open soda cans, or food is allowed in the art room. Documented medical allowances are the exception, and will be discussed with the student. Water bottles are fine, as long as they can be fully closed to prevent spills.
Full names should be written on the back of all work
One student should be at each pencil sharpener at a time
Personal items should be stored out of the way and under the table
Bathroom needs should be taken care of between classes or limited to emergencies as much as possible
ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. There are clean-up procedures to follow, and ample time will be given to ensure tables are clean and students leave on time.
Cell Phones
Cell Phone use is prohibited in class
Wake County chromebooks should be utilized for research/finding images, photographing artwork, updating Artsonia. Working directly from images found online should also be kept to a minimum to help strengthen creativity muscles.
Examples of MISUSE of cell phones and Chromebooks include, but are not limited to:
Watching movies (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Amazon...)
Playing online games
Instagram, Twitter (or other social media)
Tik Tok (Watching or RECORDING)
Texting (or CHECKING TEXTS)
FACETIME (or equivalent video chat)
MAKING VIDEO/PHOTO RECORDINGS in class and posting online
