Your student will access all assignments through Google Classroom.
Teachers will release one week of curriculum at a time. Students should focus on completing each weeks work with fidelity!
Instruction during the 2020-21 school year will be a blend of asynchronous and synchronous instruction. Please refer to materials and schedules provided by your school.
Teachers will be setting aside time during each week for office hours. During this time, students and families can communicate directly with the teacher regarding academic questions or concerns. Office hours are not opportunities for one-on-one tutoring sessions or parent-teacher conferences.
In addition to the materials picked up from your school and access to Google Classroom, please refer to the 4th grade supply list on the Parkside Elementary School website.
Students will be given assignments through Google Classroom each week. Our goal is to have these assignments completed within the week they are assigned on the respective due date. This allows for proper feedback and grades to be provided.
Read, read, read! Let your student explore the books available to them on Destiny or Big Universe. If your class uses epic! have them read using that platform. Discuss what they have read with them and make real-life connections!

Dreambox is an online application used for math practice. Your student should be actively working in Dreambox for 20 minutes per day during their asynchronous math time.

Your student's homeroom teacher will send you an invitation through Google Classroom to receive Guardian Reports. These reports show assignments your student has turned in, are missing, or are coming due soon. If you have not received this invitation, first check your junk/spam folder then reach out to your student's homeroom teacher.
The school and county do not provide additional one-on-one instruction outside of what is normally provided within the school building. If you are interested in hiring a tutor outside of school and need a recommendation, please contact our main office.
