Internet Safety

While it is the responsibility of all school personnel to educate, supervise and monitor usage of the online computer network and access to the Internet in accordance with this policy, the Children’s Internet Protection Act, the Neighborhood Children’s Internet Protection Act and the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act, the LMC’s and TF’s, it is a professional responsibility, aligned with the NC Professional Teaching Standards, to promote the safe and effective use of technology and resources to staff and students.   

A record of instruction is required for all students in grades K-9.  LMC’s and TF’s should document when the instruction has occurred so that teachers who are responsible for the student records will have a reference date. This record will be maintained in the Google Drive and should be updated quarterly.
