Student Service Learning (SSL)

Overview:

Students in Maryland must complete 75 hours of service learning in order to receive a high school diploma. Student service learning is a method of practical education that links academic learning with student service, which benefits the community. Service-learning projects must include academic preparation, service activities and structured reflection.

Humane Society Drive

The Humane Society of Washington County is in need of items to care for the pets they take care of. If you are interested in donating please see the list outside of Mrs. Garay's office (across from Ms. Dennis). Please turn in your items with a completed SSL form. Mrs. Garay will be assessing SSL hour based on the items donated. Please see Mrs. Garay with any questions.. The Humane Society drive will run from December 12 to December 21st.


Academy Travel Basketball Intern

Interns are being sought for “The Academy” travel basketball’s Digital Marketing 2022-2023 season. We are offering SSL hours for selected students. Applications are being accepted 12/12 through 12/23, 2022. Internships will begin 12/26/22. All interested Students should contact Eb Williams at theacademy301@gmail.com no later than 12/23/22. Further information about positions will be given during the candidate screening process.
