Bookshare® is the world’s largest accessible online library for people with print disabilities.
WCCUSD has an organizational membership to Bookshare. As a teacher or specialist, you can be a Sponsor who can sign up qualified students for memberships, manage rosters, and help locate appropriate reading materials for your student members.
In order for your students to become a Bookshare® members, an expert must confirm that they have a print disability that prevents them from reading traditional print materials.
Students with autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or emotional or intellectual disabilities or whose first language is not English generally do not qualify based on those criteria unless they also have a qualifying vision, physical, or learning disability.
Learn more about qualifications and who can certify members.
We have organizational memberships in WCCUSD that you will want to be a part of. Please contact us if you have joined Bookshare individually and would like to be added to a WCC organizational group.
