2022-23 Spring Dance Production Concert - Memoir
Student choreographers created nineteen dances, and dancers from Dance Production as well as Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 performed traditional culturally-specific dances. This was the final concert for thirteen seniors, including eight seniors who were inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts.

Fall 2022-23 VAPA Showcase: "Memories and Celebrations"
The Visual and Performing Arts Department showcased all of the art forms in concert on Friday, December 9th, 2022. The visual arts were represented in a gallery showing in the theater lobby beginning as well.
The Dance Production class presented two full-class dances:
"Chapters," the class' collaborative choreography exploring mental health and the various traumas that affect it;
and "Wanting Memories," a collaboration with the A Capella choir, choreographed by Ms. Goodwin in the Hawkins and Limón modern dance styles.

"Rebirth - Dancing Together Again!"
The Dance Production class presented their first full concert since the fall of 2019, featuring student-choreographed dances as well as full-class repertory in culturally-specific dance forms. Fall 2021-22 performance: "Based on a True Story"
The Dance Production class premiered their collaborative class dance at the VAPA Showcase, December 10th.
The dance was called "Based on a True Story," and it focused on the issues of gender equality, women’s rights, and sexism. Each group created their own vignette expressing different aspects of these issues: the generational cycle of women against society, fear of betrayal and abduction, the battles over reproductive rights, and appreciation of mothers and the hardships they go through.
The final group section was choreographed by juniors Sofia Castro and Kirsten Nalangan, and seniors Jasmine Kaur and Emily Trang.

"Rise In Love," the (virtual) Winter Dance Concert, premiered on Friday, January 15th.
Student choreographers showed their dances of struggle and hope,
including a suite of dances in honor of #BlackLivesMatter.

De Anza dancers and choreographers from the Dance Production class performed (virtually) in CA DANCES, the statewide dance festival sponsored by CDEA, on April 17th.
They presented a shortened version of of “Nothing as Dear as Life,” their collaborative choreography in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement – featuring the solos and duets of all the seniors plus the full-class final section, choreographed by NHSDA honorees Madison Kolley, Luz Limon, Elena Martinez, and Kadira Wilkins. Their dance was very well-received by the statewide audience.
