Climate change is the change in climate, regionally or globally, over time. The climate change we are experiencing today is caused by the increase in carbon emissions, natural and human-caused. When carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are present in the atmosphere, they cause the infrared photons to bounce off of molecules making up each gas, trapping the heat of the infrared rays on Earth. However, with the increase of carbon emissions over time, more greenhouse gases are added to the atmosphere. More heat is being trapped on Earth, which is increasing Earth's global temperature.
I strongly believe that raising awareness will halt or help reduce climate change. If more people are aware of the dangers we could be facing in the future, they would be more inclined to help contribute towards the effort of reducing climate change. I believe that anyone could raise awareness, whether it be in a movement or simply informing someone of climate change and its consequences. We students can contribute towards that by talking to our family and friends, and letting them know. With more people aware of climate change, we can even go on strikes and marches to convince governments and other groups to reduce carbon emissions and use cleaner energy.
I suspect that climate change will affect the tree itself, but not the animals present in my field site. I believe that the tree will bloom earlier every year, making it vulnerable to early bloom frosts (much like what happened when it snowed in April this year). I think that it will have minimal impacts on the organisms in the site itself. Climate change will not affect the bird-feeder, meaning that birds will still come to the site. There are other trees around my site, which do not limit the squirrels from passing through my field site. I think the animals will be involved in my future field site, but they will not play a major role like they do now.
