WHO ARE WE? WHAT DO WE DO?
WHS Theatre Boosters are the parents, guardians, and other adults who support the Theatre Department through a variety of ways and levels of participation. Our primary functions include fundraising for capital expenses and volunteer support for the productions. Through your participation in Boosters, you'll quickly realize what a joy it is to work along side these amazing students and the talented faculty and staff that guide and educate them!
For questions or to get involved, please contact us at BoostersWayzataTheatre@gmail.com.
The first step is to just get involved! There are many different ways you can be a part of and participate in Theatre Boosters; providing for all levels of involvement from a simple one-time volunteer at a concession stand to joining the Booster Board.
The best way to learn more about the options is to attend a monthly meeting; mostly taking place the second Monday of every month. Here, you can learn about helping out with concessions sales during shows, helping with meals during Tech Week, promoting ticket sales for the performances through marketing, planning the end-of-year formal event, and more!
Building the Stage That Moves Us
Dear Friends of Wayzata High School Theatre,
One of the most enduring messages of Come From Away is that when a community comes together, extraordinary things are possible.
This fall, the Wayzata High School Theatre Department has the privilege of bringing this remarkable story to our stage. We are inviting our own community to become part of that story by helping us create something that will serve our students for years to come.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 to build and operate a 20-foot Broadway-style rotating turntable for our Fall 2026 production of Come From Away. While this scenic element is essential to telling the story as our directing team envisioned, it is much more than a centerpiece for a single production.
An investment in the future of Wayzata High School Theatre.
Each year, our department produces five fully staged productions, providing hundreds of students with opportunities to perform, build, design, manage, and create. From actors and musicians to stage managers, scenic builders, costumers, and stage crew, our students learn by doing. A professionally designed turntable will become a permanent part of our technical inventory, expanding the creative possibilities for productions for many years to come while giving students hands-on experience with professional theatrical technology.
We have already received incredible support from our theatre community.
An anonymous donor has generously contributed $3,800, providing an outstanding start toward our goal.
Even more exciting, the Wayzata High School Theatre Boosters have pledged to match every donation dollar-for-dollar, up to $7,500. Every gift you make today will have twice the impact, helping us reach our goal before the beginning of the school year, when construction must begin to ensure the turntable is ready for rehearsals.
Like the people of Gander in Come From Away, our theatre program thrives because of people who step forward to help others. Every costume sewn, every set piece built, every standing ovation earned, and every life changed through theatre is made possible by a community that believes in its students.
Your gift will help us:
Build a professional-quality 20-foot Broadway-style turntable.
Provide students with hands-on experience using professional theatrical equipment.
Enhance Come From Away and countless future productions.
Leave a lasting legacy for generations of Wayzata High School Theatre students.
Whether you are a current theatre family, an alumnus, a former cast or crew member, a grandparent, neighbor, or simply someone who believes in the power of arts education, we hope you will consider making a gift.
Every donation—no matter the size—moves us closer to our goal. Together, we can build more than a stage. We can create opportunities for students to dream bigger, learn more, and experience the magic of live theatre at the highest level.
Thank you for believing in our students and for helping us build something extraordinary.
With gratitude,
Wayzata High School Theatre Department

P.S. Thanks to the generous matching commitment from the WHS Theatre Boosters, every dollar you give will be matched—up to $7,500. Combined with the anonymous donor's gift of $3,800, we're already on our way. Please help us reach our $15,000 goal before the school year begins so construction can start and our students can bring Come From Away to life this fall.
