At the end of your second year in IB Spanish, you’ll take two important tests: the Internal Assessment and the External Assessment. These tests check how well you can read, write, listen, and talk in Spanish. The questions and tasks will be based on the five main themes you’ve studied in class: Identities, Experiences, Human Ingenuity, Social Organization, and Sharing the Planet.
Internal Assessment: This is an oral exam where you'll have a conversation based on a picture or a short text. It tests how well you can speak and understand Spanish in real-time.
External Assessment: This includes written and listening tasks where you show how well you can understand and use Spanish in different situations.
Doing well in these tests can earn you college credits, look good on your high school transcript and will help you get the full IB Diploma if you’re a full Diploma Programme student. To receive an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, students must meet several requirements, including earning a minimum score of 24 points out of a possible 45 across six subjects.
