2024-2025 Leaders
Virginia Franklin '26 ~ Leader
Virginia is a senior at Waynflete and co-leader of the Perspective Project. She is looking forward to the exciting year ahead. She is particularly interested in bringing new ideas to the team and furthering connections between people with various backgrounds and viewpoints. Outside of the Perspective Project, Virginia is involved in the performing arts across New England, participating in productions, dance, and teaching community classes.
Kadija Ali '25 ~ Leader
Kadija is a current Waynflete senior and a Perspective Project co-leader. She is eager about the project's potential this year, especially the events and connections she hopes will benefit Waynflete students. Outside of the Perspective Project, Kadija is active in the Community Youth Coalition at Gateway, as well as Waynflete's BSU and Third Thought programs. She plays Squash for Rally Portland, and Basketball for Waynflete. She particularly enjoys watching basketball, whether it is WNBA, NBA, or college, and keeps up with women's sports. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating good food, and working out.
Fallon Culley '25 ~ Leader
Fallon is a current Waynflete senior and a Perspective Project co-leader. She is excited to expand The Perspective Project by connecting with other schools and interacting with new people. Fallon is a co-captain of the Waynflete girls soccer team and plays basketball and lacrosse for Waynflete. She loves to watch WNBA, NWSL, Premier League, and college sports. She participates in Science Olympiad and Waynflete's West End Mentoring/Project Story Boost, and she loves to spend time with friends, go on adventures, and swim!
Isra Mohamud '25 ~ Leader
Isra is a current Waynflete senior and a co-leader of the Perspective Project. Through the power of storytelling, she hopes to foster connections beyond the school community, and to help strengthen the impact of the Perspective Project. She is involved in Waynflete’s Third Thought Initiatives and serves as a fellow for the Community Engagement Program. Isra is a member of the Waynflete girls tennis team and enjoys spending time outdoors. She finds pleasure in cooking, watching soccer with her family, and exploring lifelong learning and education.
Sophia Woodman '25 ~ Leader
Sophia is a current Waynflete senior and is a Perspective Project co-leader. She is very excited to hear from new speakers this year and see the potential of the Perspective Project grow. Sophia is also engaged with her community by being part of and leading clubs such as The New England Youth Identity Summit Planning Committee, the Feminist Action Board with Hardy Girls, and Girls Leadership Training at Waynflete. She is a dual sport athlete at Waynflete and takes every opportunity to spend time with her friends and family. She is specifically passionate about sports, feminism, and medicine and hopes to have a career in medicine.

Skylar Cook '24 ~ Leader
Skylar is a current senior at Waynflete and a co-leader of the Perspective Project. She is super excited about what this school year will bring. She is particularly excited to broaden the horizons of The Perspective Project to bring people in from all sorts of careers, lives, and passions. Skylar is a community engagement fellow for Waynflete's new community engagement program and is working with Student Shoulder-to-Shoulder on an applied ethical leadership internship. Additionally, Skylar loves all things sports-related, spending time with friends, and trying new things.
Sasha Melnick '24 ~ Leader
Sasha is a current senior at Waynflete and a co-leader of the Perspective Project. She is excited about the opportunity to bring people together to connect in new ways, particularly to bring in people from our own community to share their own interests and talents. Sasha is involved in the New England Youth Identity Summit, serving on the student planning team for last year and this year's summit. She is a leader of the Waynflete Environmental Action Group and enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it be surfing, hiking, or going to the beach.
Aelia Russell '24 ~ Leader
Aelia is a senior at Waynflete and a co-leader of the Perspective Project. Within the Perspective Project, she is particularly interested in building connections between science and people, especially climate science, and celebrating art as a medium for change in our community. Outside of the Perspective Project, Aelia is a co-captain of the Speech and Debate team, participates in Model UN and Science Olympiad tournaments, and enjoys gardening in her free time.
