What you need to know!
Expectations of the Play – Being in a play is being part of a team!
A family member must sign a participation form before you can audition.
The form must tell the director of all appointments and other commitments you have prior to being assigned a role.
You must be available for the rehearsals you are called for.
All students must attend EVERY REHEARSAL during the last 1 - 3 weeks of the production.
Students and families are responsible for the basis of their costume (shoes, socks/tights/leggings, shirts and pants when needed).
Three unexcused rehearsals (not on the original contract / does not apply to sickness) may result in being dismissed from the play.
Parameters for Roles
CAMEO/CHORUS: If you can commit to two - three rehearsals a week, you are eligible to audition for a cameo or a chorus/dance/movement role.
FEATURED/ENSEMBLE: If you can commit to four rehearsals a week, you are eligible to audition for an ensemble/featured role.
LEAD: If you can commit to five rehearsals a week, you are eligible to audition for a lead role.
Auditions
For a play without music (fall and spring offerings), students will audition through readings, improvisation and participating in ensemble games. Due to the nature of each show and casting requirements, there may be cuts, meaning all students who audition may not have a role in the production (but we hope not to cut!).
For the Winter Musical, students will audition through singing, dancing, readings and improvisation. They are no cuts; all students who would like to be in the musical and can commit to attending rehearsals will be in the musical.
