WHAT?

Wayland Junior Broadway is an opportunity for 5th graders at the three elementary schools to participate in an afterschool Musical. The Production Team (Directors, Choreographers, Music Directors, Technicians, etc.) are older high school students already involved in the Wayland High School Theater Ensemble (WHSTE). The Advisor for Wayland Junior Broadway is Aidan O’Hara, the Drama Teacher and Director at Wayland High School.

The title is still TBD, but it will be a recognizable and super fun musical that has a running time of about an hour.

WHEN & WHERE?

Wayland Junior Broadway is run from mid-September 2026, thru January 2027. Rehearsals are at Wayland High School on Wednesdays, from 2:00pm to 4:15pm. Staff are available as early as 1:30pm to welcome early arrivals from their elementary schools. The weeks of January 4, 11 and 19 would involve more rehearsals. Performances are Friday, January 22, 2027 at 7:00pm, and Saturday, January 23, 2027 at 5:00pm.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT TRANSPORTATION: If your child already has a bus pass, there is a good chance they are on a bus with a route that ends at the high school. Even in situations where that was not true, we were able to make arrangements for those children to be on busses those days that did end at the high school. Past participants, with bus passes, were able to secure transportation from their elementary school to the high school on these days.
