​THE REAL VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY CONSISTS NOT IN SEEKING NEW LANDSCAPES, BUT IN HAVING NEW EYES. - MARCEL PROUST

Wayland High School has sponsored student exchanges and trips for more than forty years and these trips play an integral role in the department curriculum. Students visit cultural sites and during exchanges they are welcomed into homes and attend school classes with peers from the host country. Language lessons previously learned in the classroom come alive in daily-life situations while students gain first-hand experience in the geography, history, artistic expression and foods of the regions in which they tour. They are inspired and challenged through language immersion, adventure travel and global awareness. Wayland students return home as ambassadors to our classrooms, bringing with them a wealth of information and experience to share with classmates which serves to enrich our language program.
