Rachel Carson may be most famous for Silent Spring, but it is her book "A Sense of Wonder" that is the most meaningful to the members of the seventh grade team. In this book, Rachel shares with the reader her own joy and excitement as she watches her young nephew experience the discovery of the wonders of nature.

Throughout the 7th grade year, we work to provide opportunities for students to sharpen their skills as observers, to deepen their appreciation of nature and to strengthen their awareness of the world around them. During the spring semester our life science curriculum focuses on marine ecology.

For two days, the 7th grade will divide in half and travel in bus groups outside of WMS to explore the 7th grade themes of #stewardship, #connectedness, and #wondermore. One day will be spent traversing the diverse environs of Cape Cod. The other day will be spent kayaking a portion of the Charles River and connecting with friends at Auburndale Park.
A major goal of the Rachel Louise Carson House is to prepare students to become adults who are keenly aware of the fragility of our environment and to be future decision makers on environmental issues.
