Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning by following a process to address skills scored as a 2 or 1.
The plan includes:
Assessment corrections and reflection (error analysis)
Additional practice (the 7th Grade Practice & Resources website is a great tool)
In-class reassessment on the designated date (noted on the test)
It is expected that this plan is completed and turned in before the deadline (also noted on the test).
A reassessment will be offered for each missed skill if the student has followed their plan for that skill. Additional reassessment opportunities will be available for students who kept up with their work during the unit.
Students with several skills to reassess should seek support from the teacher.Â
The Math Center can provide support in working through this process.
These student-led plans are our attempt to help empower students in taking an active role in their learning.
