So, who is Mrs L?
I have been teaching for over 20 years, after having left the business world. Over the years I have continued my education and have obtained a Masters Degree in Special Education, and a certificate of advanced graduate study in Curriculum and Instruction. However, my education is advanced on a daily basis with my students, and I thoroughly enjoy learning right along with them!
My philosophy of education is based on the following ideals:
1. I believe each student is unique and contributes value and variety to the classroom environment.
2. I believe a strong connection between family and classroom is essential to both the well-being of the child and the growth and development of the child.
3. I believe in differentiated instruction to meet the varied developmental levels of each child.
4. I believe the ultimate goal for educators is to engage and excite students in learning.
As we move through the year together, I look forward to getting to know each student, and his/her interests, strengths and areas of need. Along the way, we will build relationships, learn about our differences and similarities, and share in the experiences of growth and success.
