*What is something that you would like to get better at that you finally have the time to work on?
*What is something that you have always been interested in that you would like to learn more about?
*What is something that you have started doing since we have been home learning that you had never done before?
These were the questions we considered when choosing our topics, and in the journey of following our passions, we had some common goals. Our projects would be inquiry based: an essential question drives the project, meaning the students tell what they want to learn about and why. Our projects would be research based: creating a list of questions to research and then finding the answers using a multitude of sources including people, the internet, and experience (trial and error). Finally, we will share our project with others, both as a way to celebrate our learning and to teach and inspire others on our passion. Our passions included sports, fitness, cars, language, culture, the culinary arts, computer programming, dance, animals, drawing, animation, crocheting, drawing, and music.
We are already discussing what we will learn and explore next. One statement we all agree on- this project is just the beginning. and that our journey in life should ALWAYS include following our passions!
