THE SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM - ARGENTINA
Waverley College is excited to offer for the first time an overseas language immersion program. Please use the side bar to access each section of this site. Each page covers different and important aspects of the the Immersion.
WHY GET INVOLVED?
This experience focuses on holistic language skill development and intercultural experience. It provides opportunities for selected current or future language students to travel internationally to live and study abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This is the perfect platform for students to hone their linguistic skills in authentic, real-life settings and to strengthen their global perspective. It has the capacity to enrich their personal life and empower them in their future academic and professional endeavours.
Through this unique international experience, students have the chance to enhance their language fluency while forging new connections and long lasting friendships. Students will gain a deeper understanding of Argentina's way of life and acquire greater self confidence, maturity, autonomy, and resilience.
KEY INFORMATION
This immersion is reciprocal. It involves visiting and living abroad with a student and their family in Buenos Aires and also hosting them in your family for the duration of 4 weeks in Term 3 2026. Students will live and study abroad with their host family attending school, do extra curricular school activities and attend family holidays and events just as if they were with their own family here at home.
This opportunity is available to students in Year 9 and 10 (2026) studying Spanish at Waverley OR students who plan to study Spanish in year 11.
Acceptance into this program will be highly selective and dependent on student suitability in personality, wellbeing and academic record, and up to date tuition fees.
