Grades 3-5: 

Keyboarding Expectations

• I maintain proper body  position while working at a keyboard. 

• I use proper key stroking for  typing on the keyboard. 

• I use the home row and type  without looking at my hands. 

• I can find and use the numbers on the keyboard. 

3rd Grade: By the end of May, I have built my typing speed and accuracy to 15 words per minute with a maximum of 2-3 errors during a timed 1-minute typing practice.

4th Grade: By the end of May, I have  built my typing speed and  accuracy to 20 words per  minute with a maximum of 3‐ 4 errors during a timed 1-minute typing practice.

5th Grade: By the end of May, I have built  my typing speed and accuracy to 25 words per minute with a  maximum of 3-4 errors during a 1-minute typing practice.
