1st Grade

Students start the year learning about pebbles, sand, and silt. They learn the similarities and differences between the two and get an introduction on how they are formed.

Students work with balance and motion. This unit is really hands on with finding out how things balance and if they can move while balancing.

Students learn about mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. There are a lot of fun books and songs listened to in this unit as well as hands on activities acting as animals! Students are able to tell the difference between animal types at the end of this unit

Students learn about insects, their body parts, their life cycles, and what makes a bug an insect. They observe their own mealworm go through its life cycle as well as butterflies complete their life cycle!
