We are finding students are not getting enough sleep or keeping a consistent sleep schedule which has had a
direct impact on their work completion and their ability to function during school. Students have been telling
teachers part of the reason they are not completing work is because they are tired from being on their phone,
iPad, or playing video games all night. We encourage you to implement a consistent bed time and wake up time if
at all possible. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has recommended that children aged 6–12 years should
regularly sleep 9–12 hours per 24 hours and teenagers aged 13–18 years should sleep 8–10 hours per 24 hours.
