Inclusion Activity Ideas
Have You Ever
The teacher prepares a list of questions which can only be answered with yes or no. Begin each question with “Have you ever…?”. The teacher reads out the questions. For each statement, the students put up a thumbs up or thumbs down.
Show & Tell
Where people are more familiar with each other, consider a “show and tell”. Over a course of days, have each team member showcase something. You could make it a part of the group routine with a Q&A section at the end.
Bucket List
Have students take turns at the beginning or end of your meeting to share three bucket list items.
One Word
Have students share one word in relation to a specific topic. Some topics could be what is one word that describes our class, you, school, our community, etc.
Share a Joke
Prior to your meeting, have a student prepare and then tell a school appropriate joke at the beginning of your meeting, just like Mrs. Hetzel.
No Smiling
Instruct everyone to keep a straight face and do not smile under ANY circumstance in the first five minutes of the meeting. Just have fun calling each other out!
You're in the Hot Seat
Set a timer for three minutes. Then have students take turns and asking questions of one student who is in the hot seat. An example would be "What is your favorite band?".
Raise Your Hand If
Prior to your meeting, the teacher needs to come up with a list of scenarios to have students raise their hand to. Some examples would be "Raise your hand if . . . .you have ever gone fishing, you finished a chapter book in one day, you can curl your tongue, etc."
A Continuation Story
The teacher should explain that he or she will call on each student to add to a story started in the chat feature of Google Hangouts Meet. Start the story with Once Upon a Time. . . .
This or That
There are loads of would you rather or this or that sample questions online. The teacher should compile a list. Ask each student to take a sheet of paper and write largely THIS on one side and THAT on the other side. As the teacher shares each THIS or THAT situation, students hold up the appropriate side of their paper.
Do YOU know me?
Assign that each student prepare a bunch of true or false (lies) statements about themselves. Over a course of days, have each student share. For each statement, the students put up a thumbs up for true or thumbs down for false.
Build a Sentence
The teacher should explain that he or she will call on each student to add one word in the chat feature of Google Hangouts Meet to create a sentence.
Favorites
Have each student share their favorite. . . song, color, food, school subject, etc.
Name that Song
The teacher should have some tabs open with some songs ready to play. The teacher should play a song. Students should shout out when they know the song title.
What's Your Theme Song
At the end of a meeting, ask a specific student to prepare to play their theme song at the beginning of the next meeting. At the next meeting, have the student start the meeting by playing their song and then explaining to the class why it is their theme song.
Greeting Cards
Make a card using Google Draw or on a Google Slide
Draw 3 Animals in 1
Have a student pick three different animals and then draw a picture of these animals combined into one animal. The next day, other students try to guess what the three animals represented in the drawing.
Changing the Energy
Have students stand and follow these steps:
take 10 deep breaths
give themselves a pat first ont he back of one shoulder, then on the other
Reach behind their bodies, lift and touch each heel five times
Pat each thigh four times
Pat each upper arm three times
Clasp their hands over head, lean back and swing their raised arms side to side five times
Take deep breaths, drop arms down to the knees and shake energy to the ground
Doodle
Each student needs a piece of paper and colors. On "GO", doodling begins. After 30 seconds, Doodle pictures are shared. After looking at everyones, another 30 seconds of doodling. Continue as long as you want. Doodles may be based on learning themes or content.
I Like My Neighbor
Have one student be "it". The say a statement like, "I like my neighbors who are wearing tennis shoes," (wears contacts, are over twelve, have a birthday in April, etc.) Students raise their hand or puts their eyeball to the camera if the statement applies. Then there is a new "it" person with a new statement.
Mental Flossing
Have students stand and follow these steps:
Stand with your feet slightly apart
Hold each hand about six inches from each ear
Imagine that you are holding a piece of string in each hand
Begin to move that string back and forth horizontally from side to side, through your head

Whisper, "Prevent tooth decay."
Mental Vacation
Tell students to close their eyes and picture a most favorite place. What would you be doing if you were there right now? After a minute or two, ask volunteers to ask out what they would be doing. Guess in the comment section. Continue this charades as long as you want. Students could all share their location and activity in the chat at the end.
Orchestra Leader
Play a selection of classical music that has various tempos. Ask students to listen and absorb the music. After a couple minutes, restart the music and have students use their pretend batons to conduct this piece of music.
Simone Says
Remember that you can only do the action if Simone Says. Students who lose can mute their video, but still keep watching until there is only one student left. Possible prompts:
Pat yourself on your belly.
Stand like a pink flamingo
Clap two times
Whistle
Point to the direction of Florida
Point to the direction of Canada
Show something made of wood
Swish, Swish, Make a Wish
Everyone chants: "Swish, swish, make a wish." Teacher says, "What will we be today, (say a student name)?" That person says something like "I wish I was a tree." Then everyone acts out that wish and chants, "Swish, swish, you got your wish." Then repeat.
Fist to Five
Everyone shows a fist to five as to how they are feeling. A 5 is great and a fist is not so great.

Around the World
Pick 2 students to start. Teacher holds up a flash card. Whichever student answers correctly first picks their next opponent. The students got out, turns off their camera. The game continues until only 1 student is left.
4 Corners
The person who is "it" puts their back to the camera. Then, they count backwards 3, 2, 1.... and say a number. The rest of the students use their fingers to hold up one either a 1, 2, 4, or 4 to the camera. If their number gets chosen, they turn their camera off and they are out.
Color Game
Say a color and then have students run and quickly find an item of that color.
Guess the Mystery Item
One student runs and gets a "mystery item" for the class to guess what it is. Then they just set it next to them, where no one can see. Each person gets to ask one yes or no question about the item. Then, everyone puts their guesses in the chat. Last, the student holds up their item for everyone to see!
Spot the Difference
One person is "it." They turn their camera off, change one thing about their appearance or something that was in the frame, and then everyone else tries to spot the difference.
Bedroom Scavenger Hunt
Have all kids meet with you today from their bedroom. Then, go through each item on the list to the right and see how many each student can find, one by one, and hold it up to the camera.
Hey Robot
Try to get your smart speaker (Alexa) to say a word for a point.
