Below you will find information for student / parent volunteers assisting with contest duties.
THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED WITH A WORK SCHEDULE AS WE GET CLOSER TO CONTEST DAY.
Below you will find the volunteer schedule, job descriptions, and set-up teams for Contest Day. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Jorgensen (njorgensen@waukeeschools.org).
THANK YOU for volunteering your time to help us pull off this event. Your time and commitment are greatly appreciated. Click on the tabs below to see a breakdown of the various Centers / Tasks. Be sure to look at both Friday and Saturday to see when / where you are assigned to work.
PARENTS: If you are unable to work an assigned shift, please email Mr. Jorgensen (njorgensen @waukeeschools.org) ASAP. Effort was taken to provide you with your job preferences. Your flexibility is appreciated!
STUDENTS: If you are unable to work an assigned shift, YOU are responsible for finding someone to cover your shift. You are required to attend State Contest for the entire day, so it is not Mr. Jorgensen's job to find you a replacement. Failure to work during State Contest will result in a loss of Lettering Points.
We have a busy day ahead of us on Saturday! Please plan to arrive early to your assigned shifts. Take into account that parking may be a little crazy. When you arrive, please head to VOLUNTEER HEADQUARTERS, located in the Student Service Office (attendance). When you arrive, Mr. Jorgensen will provide you with specific job instructions and answer any questions you may have.
If you are a TIMER, DOOR PERSON, or SHHH-ER, you will be provided a 'Waukee Speech' t-shirt to wear during your shift. Please plan your outfit accordingly. It is important that you are wearing this shirt ONLY when you are working. Do not wear it in to watch any performances.
When you are done with your shift, you will need to check-out with Mr. Jorgensen.
More specific instructions will be provided at check-in.
