Grades K-2

Between the Lions - A series of high-quality, brief video clips that helps kids "Get Wild About Reading!" Organized by literacy skills (fluency, phonemic awareness, etc.), children in preschool through grade 2 will learn as they enjoy these colorful videos.

BrainPop Junior - Animated videos and interactive activities for ELA, math, science, social studies, health, and the arts.

PBS Kids - Children interact with their favorite PBS characters (Clifford, Arthur, Sesame Street, etc). by playing interactive learning games. Both math and literacy games for grades 1-3.

Sesame Street - The official Sesame Street website with lots of fun learning games and activities for young children.

Starfall - Starfall Education Foundation is a publicly supported nonprofit organization that provides free and low-cost experiences whereby children can successfully learn through exploration. Both literacy and numeracy activities for pre-K through grade 3.

Story Online - A vast collection of children's books being read aloud. Reading aloud to children has been shown to improve reading, writing and communication skills, logical thinking and concentration, and general academic aptitude, as well as inspire a lifelong love of reading.

Grades 3-5

BrainPop Junior - Animated videos and interactive activities for ELA, math, science, social studies, health, and the arts.

FactMonster - Fact Monster combines essential reference materials, fun facts and features, and homework help for kids. From the solar system to the world economy to educational games, Fact Monster has the info kids are seeking. (Note: Access content through the drop-down menus below the top banner. There is an ad immediately below that banner that looks similar to the actual content.)

Khan Academy Kids - Free, fun, personalized educational programming for young children available for mobile devices by downloading the app.

National Geographic Kids - Social studies and science content, organized by games, stories, videos, and activities about animals and countries around the world. High-quality photos and videos will engage young learners and hold their interest as they learn.

Smithsonian Tween Tribune Junior - Engaging social studies and science articles, often supported with video content. Each article includes a "critical thinking question" so that students can focus their reading and the content is adjustable by Lexile reading level.

Grades 6-8

HippoCampus - Rich multimedia content--videos, animation, and simulations--on general education subjects to middle-school and high-school students, free of charge.

Khan Academy - In a recent study, students were over twice as likely to meet grade-level standards with Khan Academy. After setting up a free account, students view video lessons personalized to their pacing. All contents/subject areas are covered.

PBS Learning Media - Database of interactive math lessons, activities, and videos. Searchable by grade.

PhET Simulations - Massive collection of excellent (and free) science and math simulations that allow students to visualize concepts. Use the Simulations drop-down menu to access simulations organized by subject.

Virtual Nerd - Over 1,500 free video lessons covering middle school math through Algebra 2.

Grades 9-12

C-12 - Click on the subject you are looking for, and scroll down to access free, interactive activities and video content.

Desmos - Free suite of math software tools, including the renowned Desmos Graphing Calculator and Scientific Calculator, used annually by over 40 million teachers and students around the world.

GeoGebra - Create, share, and modify math models and simulations. On the homepage, scroll down to Featured Resources and Tutorials to access student content.
