Don't Stress!
Tips for Getting Unstuck with School Work
Talk to Your Teacher
If you are struggling, reach out to your teacher.
Share your work in progress (sometimes it is even helpful to email your teacher a photo of your work) - don't wait until after assignments are due to ask for help.
Use School Time Wisely
Use study hall time, flex time, and other non-class time to schedule appointments to work with teachers and get extra help if needed.
Get Organized
Take time each week to organize your time and make a plan for when you will get school work done.
Do not wait until right before assignments are due to work on them - this allows for time to get help if needed.
Prioritize assignments. Due dates and the "size" of the assignment should be considered. Bigger assignments will take more time and should be spread out over a longer amount of time.
Your school counselor can help you with this skill if needed.
Find Your "Go-To" Team
Is your older brother the family author? Is your neighbor a math wiz? Figure out who you feel comfortable asking for help and use these people as resources when needed.
Eliminate Distractions
Working from home can make it difficult to stay focused. Be mindful of what distracts you (like that new PlayStation 5...) and find a place away from distractions to work.
