Math Matters Clubs
Watertown City School District has 14 clubs supported by Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA) grant funding. The Math Matters 2015 grant focuses on 3 strategies to improve student achievement in mathematics.
Strategy 1: In-class Supports
Strategy 2: Virtual Learning
Strategy 3: Extra-curricular Activities: Math Matters will provide activities that allow students to explore and achieve a deeper understanding of math concepts.
Primary Objective of Clubs: To help students see that Math Matters, all team projects, field trips, and other activities are consistently focused on real-life applications, both as a motivating tool and as a way to provide students with those opportunities to apply math concepts and develop problem-solving skills.
