Our former WCSD students and graduates have shared with us how their experiences have supported their futures. The testimonials below are in their own words and speak to the lifelong connections WCSD has on our students.
Originally, I entered the work force in retail while attending college part time. I later went back to college to get my associates degree becoming a teaching assistant. I returned to college online while working full time to get my teaching degree and certification.
I attended vocational school (BTC) for my last 2 years which I gained knowledge away from the high school setting. I learned collaboration with students from other districts from the community.
I went to college and earned a science education degree after 7 years. I now work as a science teacher at Case Middle School.
My teachers always believed in me and pushed me to do my best even when I didn’t believe in myself. I am who I am today because of them.
Enrolled at SUNY Cortland and graduated with a bachelors degree. Was hired as a special Ed teacher with WCSD. I got my Masters degree from SUNY Potsdam. I then got my administrative degree through SUNY Oswego.
I played sports and had great coaches who have had a lifelong impact on me. I also had great teachers who encouraged me to continue my education.

back in middle school at Case, in one of my math classes, we learned how to budget finances using a calendar; it was only like a 1-2 day lesson, but it was extremely helpful
I went to SUNY Oswego for a bachelors in business administration. During undergrad started a financial planning internship With Northwestern Mutual. I did the internship while getting my MBA at SUNY Oswego and have been a financial planner since 2006.
I took many business classes that helped pave my career path. Career prep course allowed me to do a job shadow which got me my first job. My first job helped shape my career path.

College
Teachers who modeled supportive behavior
I went to Jefferson community college to pursue a degree in criminal justice. The only reason that I went there is because I never bother to take the sat test. What I plan on doing all together is to finish my degree at JCC. Then go on to SUNY Canton to do a 5 year deal to get my juris doctorate so that I can practice law. However that may be changing now that I have a chance to do a job along those line without getting a degree.
Having all the faculty and staff at the high school being very supportive. Even when I would tell myself there was no way I could do it. They would always tell me how smart and promising I was.
