Hi, I'm Ms. Burton!
I am so excited for our upcoming school year together. This will be my fourth year working at Lowell Elementary and my eighth year in teaching. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Watertown community.
I grew up in the Boston area and love living close to home. I received by bachelors degree from St. Lawrence University and my Masters in Education from Lesley University. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, baking, spending time with my husband, snuggling with my two cats (Lawrence and Sage), gardening, and going for walks with friends.
Additionally, I am the Equity Specialist for the Lowell School. Last year, the district created these positions, one for each school, to work closely with the Lowell Diversity Council, teachers, students, families, and the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at the district level. I am passionate about ensuring that all students, families, and colleagues from all background, identities, and experiences feel a sense of belonging, safety, and acceptance.
I'm looking forward to learning together and creating a wonderful classroom community. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns. I am always here to support.
