Reading
Students will be expected to read at least 30 minutes+ every night. The benefit of reading at home each night can be shown in the chart to the left.
Please make sure your child has a quiet place to read at home.
If your child needs suggestions on what books to read, please have them come see me! I'd be happy to help!
What to Expect in 5th Grade
Homework should not exceed an hour each night.
Reading: You will be expected to read every night. It is your responsibility to have your book with you at school and at home everyday. You will begin with 20 minutes each night and it will increase throughout the year to 30 minutes.
Math: You can expect a math sheet to reinforce the skill/s taught in class that day. You are more than welcome to take home your Math Notebook with you to help with your assignment.
