Students who are scheduled to graduate in 2025, 2026, and 2027 will take the Mastery Based Learning Assessment as part of Waterbury’s graduation requirement. This assessment is scheduled in quarterly intervals throughout the year.
All high school students will earn one mastery-based credit by graduation. To pass the assessment, students must be scored as “meets” or “exceeds” on at least two of the three indicators being assessed. Students must pass at least two assessments to earn mastery-based credit. Students will have multiple opportunities to reassess. Scores will be released through Performance Matters.
Students who have already earned their credit AND students in the graduating class of 2028 will have an alternate learning experience during this time.
